MAP EDITOR TRICKS

This section is made up of some nice glitches you can perform in your maps to create new structures. These glitches are best applied to the editor from the download section of this site, however, some can be useful in the older map editor versions. Some of these tutorials are easy, some are hard. All of the glitches work flawlessly when you build them right. Enjoy. [Pages currently under construction.]

LAST UPDATE: 03/24/10

SPEED RAMP

Allows you to create ramps that let you travel up them at any speed you designate. Also, it allows you to travel up any ramp, no matter how steep. Not the best glitch for beginners. Can be very confusing. (Easier method coming soon.)

Using Well: Hard

INVISIBLE FLOOR

Drive on thin air for an area you designate.

Using Well: Easy

TELEPORTER

Drive onto any spot you designate, and warp to the nearest surface, vertically. Extremely nice glitch for making elevators, teleporters, etc.

RAMP-STOP

Know how when u place a ramp next to a wall, it automatically goes up to the top of that wall? Well you can stop the ramp halfway up the wall, or at any point you desire. So the ramp can meet the wall, and the wall will continue to go on vertically, almost like a half-pipe. Extremely easy to make.

RAMP MERGE

Learn to merge ramps with other objects. Use to make many new structures. Mastering this glitch means being able to work around many undesirable situations. Depending on the task at hand, its difficulty ranges.

CUSTOM BASES & RECONS

Make bases or recons that can be textured, or have a roof above them, learn to make gunless or multi-gun recons, and how to place bases and recons on top of planks.

Using Well: Easy

RAMP-FLOAT

Know how ramps always need a block to ascend to, and a flat surface below them? This is how to create ramps without any support, allowing them to be placed on thin air, and/or without a block their backs. This is a less used glitch, more for specific needs.

Using Well: Hard

NON-STICK SKY

No more getting stuck in the sky mid-rox. Now you simply can coast along it, like a normal ceiling. This will also prevent bugged mines and getting stuck in the sky with SW flying.

Learning: Easy

Using Well: Pie

FORCE-FIELDS

Add invisible forcefields on any vertical plane that block all lasers, shells, drone, and recon gun shots from penetrating. Tanks can drive through them. Great for open cons or fortified areas.

Using Well: Easy

NCD OBJECTS

Stands for No-Collision-Detection Objects. Make ramps, planks, and blocks that sats can pass through, tanks can land on and take no damage from a fall, or act 'sticky' when driven into.

Learning: Easy

Using Well: Hard

INVISIBLE RAMPS

This glitch can have separate properties than InvisibleFloors or Forcefields. It will allow you to give a resting spot to sats in the sky so they don't descend all the way (great for high recon-captures or fast controller calls), or allow you to drive off ledges without flipping and ending up upside down, all without physical interference to anyone's tank itself.
